Just a quick reminder (it's been posted elsewhere but just so everyone knows!) the LWCR annual prize-giving and party night is this FRIDAY OCTOBER 12 -- that's tomorrow! Starts at 7:30pm with the awards getting underway at 8pm.

It's a wrap
The final race for the league for 2013 took place on Sunday 1st September with a second visit to Cyclopark, where SERRL were running one of their monthly women's races.
After a number of fast laps the race split into a lead group, a chase group and then a number of riders in ones and twos.
With the pace high, no-one was able to break the elastic and the race came down to a sprint won by Nicola Juniper (Les Filles RT). Natalie Creswich (Mule Bar Girls) took second with Maryka Sennema (Kingston Wheelers) taking third to seal second place in the final rankings for the 2013 league. Alexie Shaw (Les Filles RT) took 6th, having already done enough in previous rounds to secure first place overall for 2013.
Sometime later the second group came in with Helen Ralson (Les Filles RT) claiming 7th, which was enough to give her third place in the overall rankings.
Les Filles RT, who have dominated all season, took first place in the team rankings with London Phoenix taking second, and Kingston Wheelers third. A special mention must go to both the Goscomb-BSR team, which was only formed this year with riders new to racing and came fourth overall, and the VC Norwich team, which also had several riders racing for the first time this year who have travelled far and wide to compete in and support the league and came sixth overall.

Final rankings are given below for both individuals and teams. Please note that some riders have now been awarded volunteering points for marshalling at the LWCR hosted Crystal Palace crit and any tied rankings (where riders have competed in more than one race) have been adjusted so that the rider with the highest placing in any one race is ranked higher. Only 17 riders rode in seven or more races enabling them to qualify for the top 20 prizes. These riders are listed at the bottom of this news item. Our awards ceremony will take place on Friday 11th October at the Look Mum No Hands! cafe from 7pm. Other prizes (which are not dependent on the number of races ridden) will be awarded and it will be a fun way to finish off a great season so please come along if you can. Further details will be posted closer to the time.
