There are a few changes for the 2013.
Firstly, we have decided not to have a headline sponsor this year. We would like to thank Rapha for their sponsorship last year and we look forward to working with them and other sponsors in different ways this year. We are hoping that sponsors will be willing either to contribute to prizes at individual races or at the end of season prizes.
Second, the affiliation fee is being increased slightly to help cover costs. Club affiliation will now be £40 (covers any number of riders) and individual affiliation will be £10. As before riders will be counted as riding for their first claim club as listed on the British Cycling website so if you are planning to ride for a different club, please make sure you have updated your details.
Third, points will be rewarded to race finishers under the same ranking system as last year but it is your best results from 7 races that will count (out of a total of 12). End of season prizes for the top 20 riders will be awarded to riders that have competed in 7 races only. Other prizes such as most improved, most combative, etc. will not be dependent on the number of races ridden. As last year, the points awarded to a club will be the sum of the points scored by its top three riders in the race plus one point for every other rider in the club who completes the race.
Please see the rules section for full details.
Fifth, thanks to those clubs that have already run Meet and Greet rides and thanks in advance to those that are still to run them. Les Filles RT is running one this Sunday (17th Feb) from Richmond Park, please see our Facebook page for full details of this ride and others still to be run.
Sixth, there will be a launch party for the 2013 league on Friday 15th March at the Look Mum No Hands cafe from 6pm. Please come along, we'd love to see you.
And finally, here's to a great season for all riders, whether racing or not.
